562xp not starting when hot

So this started (pun intended) out of the blue. In the midst of taking down a large Osage Orange, I couldn't restart the saw. Saw is about 1 year old and was used all last season without issue. Always run Husky premix.

Starts fine cold. This is the auto tune model, wouldn't think it's a mixture issue, but who knows

I had the same issue on an earlier 562XPG - worked fine for the first summer, then started this: ran like skunk in the winter after cold start but all the angels and saints couldn't get it started again if you stopped it. What seemed to work some time later, was going thru the initial startup for autotune a couple of times - somewhere (Walkers Saw and Donny Walker or Buckin?) they showed - warming the saw up, then running it WOT in round after round for about five minutes. Stop it, let it cool right down to cold and repeat ~ I did three times. It's run fine after that (maybe I scared it?) for two or three years now. A really nice little saw but this starting thing was a pain when it happened. Best of luck.

Interesting...mine started well when warm but was al little hassle when cold. I was also idling a little low and would stall after a cut sometimes.

I started it cold and let it idle for 3 minutes which is supposed to reset auto tune. It's been great since.

As @ghostice suggested, run it through the auto-tune procedure. Start the saw and let it run in high idle for 30 seconds or so, then kick it down to idle andlet it idle for 3 minutes or so. Then full throttle for 60 seconds or so with the tip buried a few inches is wood as you make a rip cut in a log for 6-12 feet. Most times you will hear the saw lock in to the sweet spot as you are doing the rip. Any time a 5 series saw is running a little rough I will run it through a quick auto tune reset and they are go to go.

It is also very important that during day to day use you let these Husky auto tunes idle for a few minute when first firing them up.

I've also had the 562XPG thingy's run really hot (and I mean really) when bucking some bigger stuff in summer and so became more careful to let it idle to cool down before shutting off, on those "in the sun and light in the head"days. Our other older 3XX Husky saws just didn't seem to care as much. But as for the 562 XPG I still really like the quick zoom zoom they have and still waiting on some air filter changes after about two years. Really like that about pretty much all the Husky saws I've had. Usually buy air filters as a capital cost item with new saws but most of 'em for the Huskies just seem to be sitting there after years.
One other thing, I do the auto-tune fandango everytime I use the saw at different altitudes - from summer work in Manitoba (~750 ft of sticky alluvial clay in the Red River Valley above sea level) to some on Foothills acreages out west here that're at about 6000 ft. That seems to have gotten rid of any starting ill temper. Also use Husky pre mix in the 5XX XP saws pretty much exclusively and store over winter/ little use periods with a tank of Aspen two stroke fuel (straight run alkylate go juice with no EtOH). May all your saw starts be on first pull! Cheers

I've had issues when things start to warm up if I'm still using mix made with the winter blend gasoline, one of my stihl 362 had a carb issue where it ran great but then once things started warming up the gas expansion would make it flood from the carb needle not seating completely.
