311y fixer upper

Got a 311y for free, older needs to be fixed up. Wondering if anyone is running this saw, what length of bar you're using, general opinions on whether it's worth putting a bunch of work into. Also, what does "311" or "029" refer to? I've heard it's a reference to the volume of fuel the saw holds but that seems funny to me. Is it just a model number or a measure of displacement maybe? Thanks in advance!

LOL.....311Y isn't anything but a number...the saw is an 029, if that's what the top carb cover reads.

It's a heavy homeowner saw, underpowered for its wight. Reliable saw...not worth rebuilding due to it being a clamshell design...the jug that is
