2013 Arizona TCC

The world famous Arizona tree climbing championship is coming up this April 13th in Prescott! Come one, come all, to the lowest attended tree comp in existence!

We struggle with having enough competitors to justify holding the competition. Last year, if we didn't have some help from friends in Cali, we might have had to cancel. I dont quite remember, but I think we only had 4 or 5 local competitors. We have started a "novice" competition integrated into our normal comp. and have been offering tree climbing comp classes through the Arizona community tree council. This seems to be helping a bit, as we currently have more novice competitors than actual ones!
That being said, I think we had about a dozen competitors in 2011. So, not quite sure if we actually hold the record for "lowest attended tree comp".....by competitors..

Best day ever!!!! Dan Stevens is once again going to represent AZ at the Western Chapter TCC in LA. It was a wonderful windy day with lots of crazy antics! I somehow managed to win a treemotion saddle, petzle throwbag weight, for taking 1st in throw line. THANKS LUKE!!!!!

Andy Young won in my mind. His masters climb was smoooth, calculated, and precise. The judges howevere did not see it that way. I think we have a case of Dan STevens partiality. Its all good. He is pretty dreamy. Future Arborvison climber Holly H. won the spirit of the competition award. This award was created by Sal Hernandez. I THINK I saw her tear up but I can not confrim this. Saw some world class gymnast/acrobatic/slackliners doing their thing. Kids, perfect weather. Lots of love. Im still comming down from my competition HIGH. Im sore and tired and need a little hair of the dog. Headed out to footlock now. Vid to come. CONGRATS DAN ANDY AND MARGARITO!!!!
