2005 Boxer TL427 Hydraulic Problem

Just bought this unit from PA. Was a demo unit. Only has 170hrs on it. Starving for fuel initially. Fixed that with a new fuel filter & drained tanks (there was 3/4" of ice in the bottom fuel filter housing ).

Now everything works great--or so I thought Attached my new BMG grapple; no joy. Either way I shift the aux lever stalls the engine immediately.

Am I missing something boneheadedly simple? Or am I going to have to get elbows deep in hyd fluid?

Crack a fitting open a bit and hit the lever again. See if it purges hydraulic fluid.

Might also be the hydraulic coupler to the grapple.

Is the unit warmed up?
Mine will stall out for the first few minutes when cold out if I go for full actuation. Not the proper grade hydraulic oil for 30F and under.

I got it. Silly thing has a safety shut off on the platform. Doesn't restrict the machine from operation, just the implement.

Somewhere along the line, the switch must have stopped working--they jumped the two wires. Those splices had corroded to the point that they were no longer contacting ie, the machine thought I wasn't on the platform.

Initially we thought the switch would have stopped the machine from operation--since everything else worked as it should, we assumed the connection was working. Nope--just for the aux.
