1972 magazine article 'safe' climbing guide

And just think, top pay was probably $2.25 to $2.75 an hour! In 1970 i was making $1.60 an hour landscaping.

Things sure have changed a bit since then, but the basics are still the same. That was before my time though, my parents were in elementary school when that article came out...

Do any of you know if the author is still around? Any of you guys friends of his? Larry Holkenborg from Sandusky, OH. Looked like a pretty big business. He's mentioned briefly in a 1993 issue of TCI magazine.
Just fascinating reading about the history of the industry.
