I never realized how much I rely on the friction of my shoes against the tree bark while climbing. Attempting to climb a tree which was covered in a sheet of ice changed that.
This was probably the most stupid climb I have been on in a long time. Between the ice and the wind so many things...

Haha, ya... I don't know if many arborists climb with non-locking biners hanging off their harness but I have like 10,000 non-lockers so I usually bring a bunch into the canopy with me just for hanging stuff off of other stuff when tree camping.
On my last trip I lended (lent?) a bunch of gear...
