Howdy,
I've got skinny feet that suited my Scafell Lite's, but I have to give them up due to a brewing bunion. I'm not longer fussed about chainsaw protection, and I use my CanWest's when I spur. Would appreciate your recommendations on something wider than the Lite's in the toe area, and...
howdy. Anyone try converting the new Gecko 2.0 replacement pads for their old red cups? From the online pics the pad profile looks slightly different but not massively so. Also the steel hanger for the new strap is fixed to the material, not the cup as the old version. Again, different, but...
Yes, seriously. Recall the objective of this thread. Along with the arithmetic increase in safety, the increase in faffery a second system requires will have his mind focused on gear and efficiency rather than... the other thing Newton talked about. Also, annoyance with a second system is...
Something subtle has shifted for you. I felt a similar shift after climbing on an knee injury. Suddenly old fun was now new potential pain. Anxiety about trees failing is different, and you need to track down the cause of this shift, but if the objective of this thread is to get you back in...
my steel bucks w/ caddies are in Guatemala to deal with thick bark are broad diameters. Geckos are grippy on teeny tiny Ontario trees that you would giggle at. We all know you are the man, Rico. However, there are some perks to not clanking like the Tin Man after a triple expresso whilst...
your gongfu is more powerful then their gongfu. And I just found good use for that yoga mat Reg Coates shamed me out of deploying in 'the field.' ;-)
The foam tucks in perfectly. I have not used contact cement as yet, but the velcro holding the stock pad section can stick right to this stuff...
hey man. Old thread but wanted to confirm whether you ended up getting new Distels rather than replacing old pads or finding some better alternative. I feel your pain regarding the insane pricing for what amounts to some velcro and foam. Am in the same boat and seeking alternatives. Not just...
your clarification on not reading Mighty Mouse comics is hilarious, and begs many questions. Was he a secret racist? If I'm going to make shirts I should probably know in advance.
Hey Brocky. Will try your version on the other end when I've recuperated. Here's my first success using the 8mm after two fails with wire fid and the 1/2". Only took me four combined hours so money well saved there !!!
FYI: tapered the core. No love as the jacket was still locking on my fid alone. Sizing down to a 8mm fid solved it, but still a headache. On the plus side, there's no way this thing is ever puling out. (But I'm stitching it anyways)
howdy.
thanks for the confirmation, gongfu.
out of curiosity, is this a trait specific to Voyager? Because... damn. Love the rope but a head's up from Samson would have saved me hours and much swearing.
Ahoy hoy,
Spent $60 on splicing gear to save $30x the-rest-of-my-ropes and my new !50' is now... less than that. Round 3 after watching Nice Guy Dave's perfectly lucid tutorial but i CANNOT get the core to double back through the neck to exit at point Z and I don't understand the issue. I...
