    3D PRINTING

I don't think a thread for this has been started, probably for good reason, but I think there is some real value in this technology. One day, so many parts will just get printed at home like a copy of a document, but hopefully, not a copyrighted book. Anyway, this is a placard I will be...

    Notch Swinger Tool Carrier

These look like an awesome tool carrier. I'm putting together a new harness and leaving my old at another place. So of course one of the first needs is the tool attachments. This look like something I need. Anyone else using one? Before I saw that I started to design my own for lightweight...

    Fix for budget throw cubes

So often the corners wear out and the fiberglass tubes fall out. The instinct is to try to reinforce the corners. I find this a good solution to prolonging the life of these cubes. Take a hot knife or otherwise put a slice in the middle of the fabric and insert glue.

More thoughts on the finer details of rope walking ascents

Rope Walking Ascents For the last 10 years some might say I've been a little obsessed with the technology of rope walking. Most of us appreciate the efficiency that SRT rope walking provides but often the safety aspects are overlooked. I just published a video that touches on some of those but...

Basal Anchor Sling and Cinching Scaffold Knots for Aerial Recue Considerations.

This may be a simple and inexpensive consideration to encourage the use of a pre-set rescue line.

Keeping Your Life Support Equipment Dry

High humidity can lead to corrosion of metal equipment and high bacteria counts that can damage textiles and just plain make everything stink! Hot and humid climates or just rain and sweat can lead to soaked and wet gear. Laying your gear out in the sun can increase damage from excessive...

    Let's talk lanyards

I posted a video about lanyard use after some discussions at a climbing competition. (Legion of the Geezers) Just some things to consider when choosing a lanyard for use in TREE climbing.

    Worn Uni

I am looking for a very worn but unmodified or damaged Unicender, one that will undoubtably creep/slide on a 7/16 inch rope. Willing to trade a brand new SAKA. In fact I'll just use it for a while for some testing and be happy to return it.

Question MRS DdRT vs. SRS SRT

I would like to compile a list of differences that climbers understand between MRS DdRT and SRS SRT and if you are brave, a rope that is doubled over but not moving. Not a test and there is no one correct answer or prize. (Well ok, the 17th real response, (you are lucky I didn't pick my age for...

    Clean-Up-As-You-Go redirect

A redirect that has been discussed before is back in discussion. I will avoid giving it a name or speak to its origin, as that is not what's important. So, if one take a bight of rope and puts it above their climbing apparatus it can be used as a very handy retrievable redirect. There is a 3:1...

    New HitchHikerXF

The new HitchHikerXF is now shipping. I think it deserves its own thread so I'll start it out. This link will take you to the manual, videos and other relevant information that can be updated as needed. Questions and comments are welcome. I'm not posting this just to sell the device but to...

    Select and Check your anchor

This is a compilation of some posts I have been making for the last 5 years about checking your primary anchor. I recently had a limb just fall from a sweetgum in my back yard. As best I can figure is sudden or summer limb drop which I don't understand very well. That is not the point of this...

Links to a few recent videos.

I have not posted much so thought I would share a couple links to videos. A traverse. Using retrieval line. Using my AR loop runner for an anchor. https://www.facebook.com/richard.mumford.14/videos/pcb.3089440474412363/3089424451080632/?type=3&theater

    Pulleys are force multipliers.

Something to think about when moving canopy anchors, building re-directs not just for rigging etc. Pulleys are force multipliers.

Twin lines vs. one line used twice and testing anchors.

Normally I do a video and post it for discussion. This time I think I'll post the script and thoughts, video outline and see how the discussion goes, then do the video. This is basically how I've been climbing for a year or two. The basic script: Disclaimer: These are my opinions and how I...
