... i cant find the first promotional video i saw, (had music and graphics), but i think this might be the same crew.
Awsome work guys! ANY move away from spurs used on live subjects is worth it.
This should make things clearer!
I've streemlined the system though, using only the modified seat section, plus my climbing system and choked lanyard to advance up the stem.
(for those who do!! )
New rig for shinning up Washingtonias...
(Idea stolen from some guys down in Maui. ((...you know who you are.)).
I just modified the otherwise useless butt-seat to create a lighter and more compact version.
Nice!
Had somthing like this set Up for tensioning tarps. Added a large key ring loop between the supporting rope and that last 'zag'. Made for quick tug'n'set!
Concept might apply here brother!!
...how about this then?...
..effectively turning the positioner into a pulley!
...
It's a shame.
Maybe it's time to put the old dog to 'sleep'
...before it bites me in the ass!
Thanks a lot! I to take my life, and that of those around me, VERY SERIOUSLY!
The truth is: that positioner was inherited from the climber who occupied my job before me, and is completely "uninsureable". It occupies the tail end of my 2nd backup lanyard, only ever used as a third point of...
...is that sarcasm?
I live and work in the south of France, it's hard to tell anymore :nocausagracia:
...if not, thanks dude! ... if yes, thanks dude...
You have a good eye ;)
The CE was just for demonstration purposes, and garage rafter tests.
And thanks. That's just the kind of response I hoped for. "Don't do that. That would be stupid... :rayos:" kind of thing.
...But wait a minute, what do you mean by "...not as a primary system" and...
Yip!! ...It's just that!!
I've found, in my limited experience with the lock jack, (only a couple of ground based tests) that it's equally uncontrollable as the positioner. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't own one, or know a climber who does so I can't say ...or test. Anyone? I'de be interested to know.
This is THE smoothest RW/(whatever) combo I have found (...in my bag,) to date! but apart from the issue suggested by the title, can anyone see a potential problem with this setup,
...other than shortening/neatening-up that long, asymmetric, tether!...and a regular change of pants?:
I can't...
Hello. I'm a 'tool-a- Phile. I'de like to celabrate those tools we have,in our bags, in our pouches, on our belts, and in our trucks... (trucks and rolling stock not included)
...Those tools that, though our wives and mothers could never understand, make the risks, early mornings (...and...
Yes! that's what I was imagining!
...might even be the video that I saw!
But seeing it in action I see it's very de-connection/connection intensive. Fine if you're 75-100% srt, and you can dial it in nice. However, I can see why it led to greater things! (...I had no idea that was the genus...
(.....Just a thought:- )
Could there be possible SRT applications for something resembling this? I'm sure I've seen a figure8/...Munter under a hitch climber system, presented as a cheap 'everyman's' SRT option somewhere??
... (on here probably!!)
...If the stitch-plate/ring/...fig8 could...
Stitched eyes only though, no splices. Should I be worried? Would these eyes still be rated for life support when stressed internally in directions unintended in its original function?
Maybe girth hitching a loop of OP over the hoop & biner would be more sure??
