I get paid lunch and lunch paid for.... Life is good.
I worked for a company several months ago that required mandatory 30 minute unpaid lunch, but you had to remain on the property. I said goodbye to that!!

Why didn't you secure the trunk when you made the release cut? What made you so sure it would remain standing after the release cut was made?

You got lucky on that final cut. A few steps back would have been prudent.

A while back there was a thread with some guys using a similar bag that opened from the bottom once a strap was released. They all had cranes, knucklebooms or skid steers lifting them.

It's actually nothing new to load brush and wood with clam grapples onto 45 foot end dumps Jeremy.
First big LA company I climbed for in 79 did the whole city of Garden Grove that way with nary a chipper in sight.

Re: Whole Tree Chipper Two Man Minimum Rule Adopti
The last company I worked for totally did away with chippers on the residential crews. The company I'm with now has a chipper, but its more of a space taker at the shop. Grapple trucks!! I personally believe chippers are a thing of the past.
I set a SRT line in the first central tree and worked off of it for the other two trees. Yes the tree I used as my tip was felled also. There were 4 trees removed altogether. Why didn't I just spike up the tree? Because I wanted to SRT.
[ QUOTE ]
I have a six inch chipper and f250 with ex dump. I sub out a lot of material removal. Put the tree on the ground, chip up the little stuff and pay someone else to deal with the rest.

Sounds like the best plan ever !!

Nice looking truck!
Why don't k booms need to be leveled like stick booms do?
[/ QUOTE ]
They do need to be leveled. The kbooms use stabilizers instead of outriggers like a stick boom or a crane.
