Personally, love the idea and have been at it myself as well as I could see spending 200 for a APTA even if they were in stock. That being said, it looks like the folks at J&J sporting goods in Marietta Ohio have it figured out -

Yeah, great points and I thank you for taking the time to answer. I have the kleins and found that the hardwoods are more comfortable with a pole gaff but the pine and thicker bark trees work better with the longer gaffs. By work better, I mean more comfortable with less effort. You are correct...- W^3

May I inquire as to 1. Why you have to pay 450-600 for a pair of spurs that are comfortable 1a. Yet you also have to choose tree or pole spikes (as it doesn't seem like they are interchangeable) 2. Is there a more economical alternative? I use the basic klein pair but have the gaffs that I...- W^3
