Its a real problem, everywhere. My solution is to burp them and give them appropriate nap time.

Kinda sorta agree with you... The yellow jackets do last longer it seems, And I haven't had enough hours with the green teeth and new pockets to know yet. your correct about chip containment and size for that matter (depending on species) The one plus that I prefer is that the green teeth seem...
we run a 552... been good, the "auto sweep" feature... meh?... surprisingly staple on hills.. One lil difference of opinion from this thread, is that I prefer the green teeth over yellow jackets...
Seems like loyalties are pretty set. I have to say that I firmly believe that the operator has so much to do with how a piece of equipment is perceived. That being said, I'm in the Avant camp. Never flipped, no broken panels, very little issues. 528 1400hrs. Pushed to the limit.

I saw that too and was curious. Years back, I used a "green"? wheel... It worked, think it was for a rayco stumper , with the finger style cutters. It shrank down pretty quick against the tungsten. I switched my yellow jackets(2 cutting sides) on the vermeer to green teeth with 3 cutting...
Bamboo has a mind of its own... I just accepted that I have to cut a bunch every year. Thing is that our stand is at the base of a lake, no chemicals...just routine slaying, and creating shredded wheat chips that kinda suck
