    Phone policy for tree crews

one hand on the phone and the other holding your pants up.... Its a real problem, everywhere. My solution is to burp them and give them appropriate nap time. Ask for forgiveness and hope not to offend anyone, while praising them for such a great job. ugh, just a vent.

    Looking at a Vermeer 552

Kinda sorta agree with you... The yellow jackets do last longer it seems, And I haven't had enough hours with the green teeth and new pockets to know yet. your correct about chip containment and size for that matter (depending on species) The one plus that I prefer is that the green teeth seem...

    Avant 528 vs cast 33d

Seems like loyalties are pretty set. I have to say that I firmly believe that the operator has so much to do with how a piece of equipment is perceived. That being said, I'm in the Avant camp. Never flipped, no broken panels, very little issues. 528 1400hrs. Pushed to the limit.

    Stump grinder tooth sharpening

I saw that too and was curious. Years back, I used a "green"? wheel... It worked, think it was for a rayco stumper , with the finger style cutters. It shrank down pretty quick against the tungsten. I switched my yellow jackets(2 cutting sides) on the vermeer to green teeth with 3 cutting...

    Bamboo Management

Bamboo has a mind of its own... I just accepted that I have to cut a bunch every year. Thing is that our stand is at the base of a lake, no chemicals...just routine slaying, and creating shredded wheat chips that kinda suck

Interesting statement in TCIA magazine article

" Lichens are actually a sign of really good air quality and will grow on almost anything given the chance." worth repeating, Loved observing them (lichens) out west on the rocks, in the Parks, and great plains. Noting the different colors too
