We are on day 5/6 of storm damage with no days off from the previous work week, First post I've been able to read... Its exactly the one I needed to, Thanks for sharing, I too am at that statistical "complacency" category...
So many decisions are based on unfounded fears. Even more jobs are sold when fear is introduced. They aren't growing as fast as they are getting cut down. I used to be excited to notch my belt with a big ass removal. It just feels different now. This subject always has and always will be an onion.
"The art and science of practical rigging" and any Jeff Jepson stuff... will get ya started.
you might need some permissions?
"On Rope" has more forces than you will want to read...
Nice tribute... watched the cottonwood vid when it was first posted and could tell he (Jed) was the real deal. What I liked most about him was his humble demeanor. He shined on camera. fuckin storm damage, general public has no idea...
looks can be deceiving, in the spirit of transparency, there was room for error. Green giant arborvitae. Supple exterior vs. Granite.. for the record, I always treat each marker as if it was my family or marble, in other words, I always make sure I miss those targets, regardless. Thank you just...
Better ways to achieve same outcome....agreed. This was intentionally left attached, cut a small amount off bottom to clear. one and only time I did this cut
when I'm face cutting or felling, I am throttling with my right hand(usually). When I am flushing a stump, I am throttling with my left. I guess this makes me a bit poindexterous too. It would be difficult, at best, to have only one grip option.
Everyone that posted.... "wow" so much talent. Tree folks are just cool.
gonna upload some pieces a friend did for me... then post em. I'm beginning to see potential in everything almost and hate processing so much into chips or firewood...but I'll push through... lol
