Re: Tension pulls on the cover strand
When your burring the core inside the cover and then pulling the core tail out it sounds like you may be snagging the core with the fid when it is passing through the cover. If this is the case with a strand it will be locked in place and will bunch...
Moss, thanks for the link for those needles! Let us know how those 2nd generation stitches break test. I like the splicing process my self but can see benefits to sewing eyes. Great documentation on it!
Great topic and responses!
I agree with being hands on with sales and clients. Kind of critical at first to be present and establish yourself I think. Interacting with people in a positive way will encourage them to refer you to new clients.
Good links RS!
I agree in situations proper one handed technique can be a good thing. But not to be used from being to lazy to reposition for proper two handed technique.
Sometimes we don't get the one chance. Things happen fast and we can't go back in time. That sinking gut feeling and only...
Thanks Nick! I was looking for someone with your experience to comment. I figured as much because there construction is so similar. Not going to do it and stick with the optional configurations.

looking at all those semi static lines. The new safari looks good as does the...

Good post and good work from the surgeon.
Good reminder to never get complacent or sloppy. Looks like he might have been reaching across his body with right hand and possibly holding on to what he was cutting with his left. Wont really know what happened, but I would say one hand cutting for sure.
Thanks all for the comments.
SInglejack has a good picture up and I agree with the other comments that I can just join two spliced eyes together. I was just wanting some splicers opinions on the feasibility of it. But I will leave well enough alone, besides joining two ropes with a...
I Agree that semi static rope is the best for longer ascents of which I have only tried escalator. I foresee getting a long semi static line in the future. I do use tachyon and prefer it to the 16 strands for the most part.
But I have close to 240 feet combined of 16 strand and my question...
First, thanks everyone on the buzz for posting and sharing so many awesome ideas and experiences. It's nice to have such a support network in cyberspace and beyond.
I wanted to get people opinion on splicing 2 new climbing lines together, 16 strand arbormaster 150' w/ 16 strand hi-viz under...
I'd love the stainless autolocker and swivel. I PM'd you Donny but your private message box is full. PM me if there still available & I can get them. Pay Pal or what ever works for you. That would be super!
