The wife and I have always wanted to travel internationally to look at trees. We've really never gotten to leave the US. I've worked all over the country but haven't even gotten to go to Canada.
Folks who have travelled for work to other countries, what was your experience? I mean, it's ISA...
We decided to grab a 500i while the getting was good. Took down 3 100'+ cottonwoods today and used it for felling/bucking after they were brushed out. OMG HOW DOES THIS THING HAVE BAD REVIEWS!?! It's the most amazing saw I've ever held. It weighs about the same as my 261 (I got a 28" light bar)...
My new groundie is a big kid, like 6'5 and 260lbs. He's a 44x36. Do they make chainsaw pants in this size? I have been looking but haven't found anything. Closest I've found is 40x34.
Thank you.
Giant is no longer sold by top notch, so the closest dealer is in Brandon (north of Alexandria, an extra couple of hours away).
Being new to dealer support, is it a detriment to have your dealer support that much further away?
I'm probably going to have to take a day and demo them all. I worry about the "bigger foot print" being an issue but rarely is that the issue. Capacity more times than not is the crux.
If I need something smaller I'll just get a Chinese mini skid, lol. Just kidding
@Mallett My tractor has a grapple. It works great for logs and brush. It won't feed the chipper well.
In general, as stated, art and mini skids will out lift a small tractor. If you're not doing tons of massive removals the tractor does just fine. We've done big and removals with the tractor...
