yes, i see what you are talking about. looks like the hinge is slightly fatter on the side where the whiskers stick out of the stump but there is also fibre-pull visible on the other side and they probably protrude out of the butt-log. maybe it has something to to where the fibres break under...
i know it‘s not really contributing or at least you didn‘t ask but i will say it anyway. you teeth don‘t have to be the same length as long as each raker is dialed to it‘s cutter your chain will cut straight. make‘s sharpening much easier. just file each cutter, some might need 15 strokes some 5...
spoke with beddes and puk at the german treecare conference in augsburg, they will come out with suspenders. also a version of the kinisi without the adjustable bridge and later a light version… and much more :)
the metal ring on the back has been snapping off with a lot of people, mine is still doing fine.
the lanyard is by ftc, i don‘t know the name but it is definitely suited to the smaller saw‘s. i‘ve had a 261 fall to the ground because this lanyard snapped (first day of use). good for my 2500...
i really like my 462 with 28“ or 24“ full skip, square filed. also the 3/4 wrap handle was cheap, i think less than 50€. the 362/400 feels like a brick but i‘ve never run the 400. 500i is annoying to start (for me).
i run my 261‘s with 16“ bar 325 full comp, they do cut well ;)
interesting, thanks. i doublewhip frequently but only when i need it to stay within WLL of slings and rope or for positioning of the piece but than it is referred to as span-rigging, i guess.
i hear you, sometimes to basal LD can be freeing..
from my couch it looks in the wll range of single leg 1/2“ rope. did you double-whip with out a lowering device? i‘m not criticizing, just interested in the reason :)
hello,
i searched the forum but couldn’t find the information..
somebody offered me a hobbs 2000 device with the straight drum and rollerbearing fairlead at the back of the drum for a good price. if i recall correctly, there where rope overlap problems with this design. or did they solve that...
