RopeWrench Ropewalking Setup - - SOLD

It alleviates enough weight on your hitch to prevent binding and provide very very smooth descent. Spend the money dude lol. You just may be an over thinker :b there’s a photo on here somewhere that makes it pretty clear how it works visually. The old slogan was “the limb that goes with you.”...

    Sticht Hitch

I do love how the thimble is literally right below or in the case of the blue ring directly attached to said ring giving a nice even instant push straight upward. Can’t seem to get it to tend like the pulley tho, gotta keep experimenting

    Sticht Hitch

this seems to be the ticket for a pulley in prelim testing! Hand tending is completely effortless once you pass the 45 degree mark. Adds a little bit of length to the system but the gain seems worth it. I could never get the HC pulley to work, would rotate and really mess with descent and upward...

Trade / Sell : mcrs, MORE ADDED - drenaline, safebloc

Bump! I grabbed a new saddle so will accept cash for the MCRS without hesitation. Also have a ~110 piece of drenaline that isn’t for me no matter how hard I try. All of it in good condition, Bottom half of the rope is pretty fresh. I’ll remeasure it, but I’d love to get like $90 / .80 a foot...

    Accident report on Facebook

This echoes a constant thought I have. No shortage of statements saying “inspect often, here’s what to look for” but the terms used can be loose and subject to interpretation. With hitch chord for example - excessively glazed or melted. Me way early on: “this chord looks quite glazed after two...

    SRT device poll

great rope wrench concept solution @moss, thanks. Manual rope wrench haha. Lack of midline attachability is not an issue for me. I ended up ditching it mid climb anyway. I have not tried eye to eyes. Im sure Brocky will answer that, or look around the sticht thread. The only ones I used...

    SRT device poll

I lied, I currently have a thimble under to tend but so far I’ve found I prefer to not have the loose piece. Might be hard to see but hopefully you get the gist. the photo of the ring was my preferred solution to have the tending piece completely rigid but that ring is too big for my preferred...

    SRT device poll

I do, it’s by far my favorite. My preferred combo is traditional 8mm viper and a small isc ring, no pulley or anything to tend even. It absolutely destroys any other device I’ve tried. Feeling of a hitch, slightly slightly less easy to tend than a rope runner, lighter than everything. Basically...

[Captain Hook usage] Why have a separate hook-lanyard, when you could just use the tail of your line?

Not sure what your primary use of the hook is, but I would just throw it on the back end of my lanyard with a sticht hitch or whatever you use to make your hook SRT friendly. 45’ is wayyy more than I’d ever need. But if you’re consistently utilizing your hook for some insane throws that might...

Tree work is not for everyone… The importance of listening to your minds voice

Oh also, to those that are coffee sensitive - try out Yerba mate. Might be hard to find depending on your area. Sometimes it is canned in energy drinks, but you can find it loose leaf to brew as regular tea. It has a slightly different analogue to caffeine coined matteine. Theoretically it is a...

Tree work is not for everyone… The importance of listening to your minds voice

Funny enough I’m a total fuckin forum creep ass and saw a very old post of yours about caffeine and coffee habits. I found it right when I got serious about climbing and it turned out to be the ticket! My fear of heights and a lot of that unexplained anxiety/fear disappeared. I back this mindset...

Tree work is not for everyone… The importance of listening to your minds voice

Hello all, I’m just over two years into tree work. Prior to this, I lived nomadically in my van and was completely unable to hold any type of job. Found a great girl, started to get it together, then found tree work. Been enthralled ever since. Been doing my own thing for about 6 months now...

Pads under outriggers on a rental lift?

If you don’t use brand specific outrigger pads you will surely blow up :b we just use small squares of plywood. Or a full sheet if we suck and forgot them. Only necessary on grass for the smaller lifts, if we used something like an sd64 that’s quite heavy and we’re on a clients concrete...

    Sticht Hitch

Right on. I’ve been using the small isc ring for 8mm and the blue 40mm for 9mm+. The camp ring sounds like the size I’m looking for to replace the blue ring for larger chord.
