I don’t own the lifts I run so I can’t say if there’s a market. I agree that a remote would be safer but the price point is pretty key. Zip tieing the cables has done well to keep them from failure.

Yes zip tie 6” before the plug to the controller and the machine, make sure to hold the controller in a way that doesn’t put pressure on the cable as it enters the plug on the controller side. The weight of the cable is enough to stress the cable to plug connection on the controller side. Got...
People seem to be liking the little battery powered shrub shear that Stihl offers so it make sense that they are expanding to this. Couldn’t believe that my closest Stihl dealer was selling a lot of the 6” battery powered shear.

Looks a lot like the Bosch saw that’s been around for a bit. Makes sense to use it for actual shrub or ornamental cutting. One handing nightmare though...

Look up vacuum testing a chainsaw. You can do it with as little as bike tire tubing, hose, hand pump and shrader valve.
If you start the saw and flip it on all sides and the idle speed increases, that’s the best indication of an air leak. That’s the point where I would be checking the seals. I...
Since it is a strato, fuel charge and air paths are separate, it’s most likely integrated into the boot on the bottom end.

No they have connectors to let you take the wires off, just be careful and take a pic before.
I would caution with spraying carb cleaner into the carb when it’s on the saw. Carb cleaner will wash out a lot of stuff into the crank and then also wash off the layer of oil on the parts.

It looks well used, but I wouldn’t replace it yet. A compression test would be the next step, anything over 130psi should run fine, but 150 is the ideal number.

The saw community had just started dabbling in pre ported cylinders. I don’t think there is one available for the 362. I’ve used the cross performance MMWS ms660 cylinder kits in the past, they work great. HLS pro parts sells the cross performance line.

Pull your muffler off and take a picture of the piston and post it here. This thread would take a hard turn if it went to needing to rebuild your saw. As it is a v2 I’m not sure what companies are making replacement kits for this new generation. Oem is best, but there is no shortage of mechanics...
The v3 ms362 might have the 30/30. That is easy to tell as it has the smaller spark plug like the 462. Your 2016 will have the 90 second reset. The best way to tell is the manual, as my 462 lists the reset procedure.

Get it ported and you’ll use it for everything. I have every Stihl pro saw but the 261 for a reason. That little 241 is impressive and it saves the arms and back a bunch.

Both the 562 and 362 have been through a few iterations and I don’t think you would go wrong with either. The Stihl saws have had issues with solenoids going bad, but it is not complicated to fix and the electronic aspect should not be a concern. Self adjusting tuning saws are very nice to have...
Rich the saw king works on the left coast. There’s also the psychoized guy, can’t think of his name. Names his ported saws psychoized, searchbit on YouTube.

See link. You’ll need to retune after, many vids on YouTube to help with that.
Muff mod is the quick and easy 10-15% bump. Correctly sharpened chains can add that much too.

Construction supply and rental companies sell them as well. There would be a chance for a bulk discount there and maybe some shipping savings. Check if alturna has a dealer locator?
