Learning how to have control of the line with your non-throwing hand can save a lot of time. Basically letting it run through said hand the entire shot. If it is an obvious moss you can stop it without having to feed as much line between throws.
Have as long of line as possible between your...
My best tree related deal would be the time that I traded to learn the industry from my first mentor. Luckily he was a safe climber who was really into improving the industry. Those first couple years with him really helped set me up for where I am today.
Besides that, trading $1,800 dollars...
@rico Haha, that’s fair. I could have swore that it was a bit more when I purchased it. Too many things going on for me these days. $250 shipped. Also would be down to trade for the static if you were still interested.
That is massive union amd both looks more than adequate to tie in to. The main stem on the right looks like there would be some options higher up as well which will give you room to play in the canopy a bit.
Wouldn’t be any first choice for a rec climb but could be fair to learn some basics on. How large of a union are you talking about? Practice isolating and canopy tying? Spread the load between two unions if you are second guessing it?
Please don’t allow them to make that decision. It is definitely not causing the tree to lean. The aspect ratio of the limb is a bit large though so some gentle end weight reduction will be beneficial. Be sure for true small reduction cuts and not tip thinning cuts with the goal of slightly...
As the title says, it is up for hopeful TRADE or sale if I must. It was put on rope twice but only ascended about 10’ before realizing it is too large for my liking. Comes with 4 prussik cords and has the Rock Exotica swivel carabiner.
Things I’m interested in would be lightly used saddle for...
Idaho has been pretty warm with minimal snow. Shot my deer in N. Idaho, an hour away from Canadian border, on Thanksgiving with zero snow on the ground. Am currently at the family cabin in Lowman Idaho with about 6” on the ground. Usually we would have 3-4’ this time of year. It is definitely...
My thoughts as well! Deal with all the brush and a few pre aligned picks for the helicopter. Doesn’t look like enough time to set up the logistics but that would be one way.
