Sorry if it has been discussed before but is anybody experiencing some creep with their Rope Runner? I am using the reccomended rope but sometimes when I sit back in the saddle it just slowly creeps. Sometimes it doesn't. Not sure if I am missing something. I am about 140 plus gear if that matters.
That is kind of what I was hoping for. A combined effort when needed. We are small. Two guys including myself and a third part time when we need extra hands on the ground. We have a f550 chip truck, a 12" chipper, a mini with a BMG and a F350 with a 20 ft. Trailer for hauling the mini and logs...
For all the guys that do sub work for other companies;
-How did you approach the subject with other companies?
-What services do you offer? (Just climbing, all your equipment, ground guy etc.)?
-Does it build a good relationship with other local companies?
-Is it mutually beneficial?
I guess I...
I feel like it is a moment of inertia thing and not so much a strength thing. So the tree moves a lot more if you rig off the top with the lower limbs gone because it has less mass to get moving. If all the lower limbs are on, there is more mass to get moving so it will wiggle less. So it is a...
I think it is because the Ash borer is boring into and eating up the wood, it kills them pretty quick but also really compromises the strength of the tree while it may be hard to tell from the outside.
Ash trees in my area are starting to get hit. I have seen several where the trunk just snapped 20 feet up, good size trunks. Kind of gives me the heebee jeebies. I just looked at a job with 6 Ash removals. Pretty big. Look like they are on the decline. They would need climbing and rigging...
I have had a perfect track record thus far. Sure I've dented some lawns and maybe grazed something with a limb and had to wipe a piece of bark off of it. But today I managed to swing a big Poplar top too far and a couple limbs hit a chain link fence section an bent it up a little. It is really...
I am burning through my second pair of Salewa Firetail EVOs in a year and wondering if I can get more life out of the Pro 2s? I love the fit of the Salewas, but they just don't hold up that well for full time climbing duties. I am guilty of wearing them all the time because they are so...
Looking for a replacement for my BC1230A. It is pretty tired all over and I don't want to sink more money into it. Looking for a newer low hours 12" chipper. I would prefer a Bandit or a Morbark. I am not a fan of the vertical feed rollers.
Let me know what you've got!
I will be reading this thread to see some more opinions. I have used the STX 26 a lot and like the maneuverability and ground speed but was never too impressed with the grinding abilities. My Alpine Magnum with sharp teeth is just as fast. So I am hoping this 38 is a big upgrade. Otherwise I am...
Does the Dingo have a grapple on it already? I have a dingo with the BMG grapple. In my opinion, I would get the best chipper you can get. That thing is going to be running all the time and will be making you money. The Dingo with a good grapple will save your back a little bit. I have the Dingo...
Anybody know if the Stein RCW-3000 is still available? I put it on a TreeStuff order and it was removed and says no longer available. I checked Wesspur and it is out of stock too?
You are definitely headed in the right direction in looking for a self feeder. I had a 6" Vermeer with the 25hp motor. That made you hate chipping real quick if you were trying to make any money.
Then I bought a chuck and duck. Same size material went through it but wicked fast. It was light to...
I got my Monkey Beaver harness a couple of weeks ago. Hands down the best harness I have ever worn with regards to both comfort and function.
Thank you August and New Tribe for working together to bring a great product to market. It just goes to show there is always room for improvement. Making...
