    Vertical Mulching.

Using an air spade we do alot of vertical plunging to help with soil compaction. You could use decomposed chip to amend the soil. Sand, vermiculite and peat moss are possibilities also. It has alot to do with the current condition of the soil you are trying to amend.

    I'm stumped by an oak

Re: I\'m stumped by an oak My only advice to you is to not marry this tree. If they are scared of it and you tell 'em its OK, they have someone to sue should anything happen. I love trees like anyone here, but I've seen tree/limb failure that I'm still trying to figure out. Example: I have a...

    Disgruntled ex employee

Are you trying to say that in Canada when a kid shows up smacked out on meth and starts smashing truck windows you guys would come out, offer him a beer, and try to verbally reason with him? OR, you let him do it and write it off as a bad business decision on your part? If I'm reading your post...

neither am I, but non-lethal means of defense I do. Paintball gun. Works for tree rats (squirl) and deer so why not for a punk. I would pump thirty rounds on him before he had a chance to turn around. Run home like a little bitch

Be proactive and slash the tires on HIS car. This way he cant come to get you. Ha Ha. Sounds like this kid has bigger issues than you. Its unfortunate. I like the idea of cameras though. If budget wont allow for full blown security, the fake ones would be a good deterrent. As far as him...

    Merit for Spider Mites

My take on it is that people think Merit is a cure all. You still should get a pair of oils on hemlocks for the mites eggs or floramite for the adults.

    Merit for Spider Mites

I wish there was a soil injectable pesticide that took care of everything, but there isnt as of yet. The increased spider mite activity in hemlocks after being injected with merit, I personally think is false. It doesnt make sense to me. Right plant in the right location works best for me...
