I've heard an appropriately-sized log in the grapple makes a good spreader, once the mulch is moved.

The tow-capacity of the mini make a small trailer almost a dump trailer. My trailer barely fits my mini, and had loading legs on the the rear to support the trailer frame during loading.
I stick these legs down a bit to protect my lights, and can lift the trailer to 45*. 4' sides on a 5x8 trailer (that hauls the mini) makes a portable ~5 yard chip box that the mini can then move to lots of places a heavy trailer might not go. Dump some here, and here, and here, and spread.
I hardly haul mulch.

Top measured about 46”. Yes on the cutting edge and the giant lift capacity is I believe around 2000 pounds. I had no problem scooping up full bucket loads of wet semi composted chips and dirt and old chunks of firewood and loading them in the dump trailer
 
I’ve got a bucket for my bobcat that has chipper knives bolted on to the sides for a cutting edge. Wonder if you could do that on the mulch bucket

Chain hooks and a receiver would be good add-ons. The hitch can accept a custom, rigid rope bollard or an attachment point for a POW.
Moving trailers with the hitch can be such a help.


The chain hooks can be used to pick up the bucket when detached or to pick up things with the bucket when installed.

We have this guy https://palletforks.com/products/mini-toro-dingo-receiver-hitch-mount-plate-attachment-skid-steer which hasn’t really increased in cost surprisingly. Capacity and visibility much better than a reciever on a bucket or the one on the bmg.IMG_0039.jpeg

Better late than never! Are you carrying chips or just spreading them after chipping? At the yard I use a snow plow that I mated to the mini for spreading chips and snow, fkin snow. I am so over this winter, cold, wind.
 
We build a bunch of trails so most of it will be carrying scoops a distance. We also put a bucket on for messy jobs like wolf pine removals, and the normal bucket fills with rakings so fast. Keeping the 1/3 yd for sand and gravel etc, the bm bucket can’t tip down as far due to design (at least with DW plate) so probably not the best for finer work.

Did you fab the plow with a dedicated plate or, on a receiver setup w/ chains? Been looking at that for the new tractor. Hear ya on the winter, currently snowing but due to switch to rain/sleet and then hard freeze with 40mph gusts tomorrow, driveway is a couple ice tracks after the last sleet storm. Lovely

I found the plow on Marketplace, cheap, real cheap. I welded that to a mini hitch plate and presto. I can get a pic if you want I thought I had one but I must have deleted it.
Another trick I use to move large amounts of chips is to use a Bagster that I carry with the clams and a BMG. I’ll use the clams to load and I’ll just flip the Bagster to unload.

I have one of those. I will use it at times for greater towing capacity.

All the same, chain hooks allow a POW to be attached easily with a chain, in a pinch. A receiver can be used to mount a POW easily. Loading and unloading the bucket without attaching to bucket is sometimes helpful.

I like that idea enough that I went out and bought this one for $175, I'll probably have another $200 in an attachment plate and hose couplers.

Do you ever wish you had the headlights on yours, or are you glad they are out of the way for visibility? I haven't yet decided to shed the weight or keep them for after dark work. Screenshot_20250302_142716_Gallery.jpg

I wear a head lamp, and no visibility has never been an issue even without a head lamp.
Just an FYI couplers are ridiculously expensive, I think I paid $90 something for the female end alone.

They are pricey. I bought some last year at the local rural king for $60 for the female and $35 for the male end. Prices may have jumped up since then
