I agree and disagree at the same time, only because from everything I’ve seen (which isn’t really everything), the hole layout of the DMM and TM are unique. All others I have seen use a rigging plate that puts the bridge holes in a position that pull the plates in an odd way when loaded.
The DMM design is the only one I know that aligns properly when loaded, and I think that’s why their lower Ds are not available in the aftermarket or as replacement parts…they are so good that it’s as if the rest of the saddle was designed around them.
I may be alone in this, and that’s fine, but I might use my hip Ds once or twice a year. My lanyard lives in my lower Ds for everything, including spar work. When I first got a TM, I finally found out what I had been missing, and it was all about those lower Ds. Always in suspension and gobs more room to work above my positioning lanyard on a spar.
