Planting & Preservation Forum?

Anyone else think it would be nice to have a "Planting & Preservation" forum on Treebuzz?

Something where there would be a collective place to ask questions about species/site selection, cultivars etc. Seems like it could be helpful for those of us offering tree planting as a service and for Muni arborists who are trying to plant diversity. Also with learning more about the benefits of planting natives it can be hard to find and match up natives that will perform well in tough urban sites so that knowledge could be shared.

Maybe it could include "preservation" too like around development/constructions sites.

Just a thought.....

Starts with the person.
If you haven't the "right academic and practical knowledge, get out of the way.
You are the problem.
trees mostly fail because of management.
convincing managers to plant less, plant quality and manage for future.
you're doing it all fucking wrong!
don't be afraid to tell management to go fuck a hat.
same for preservation. mostly cowards who do not know how to prune and do not understand trees/simple botany.
seeking a pro shows character. asking the right questions and refusing stupidity.

The 3 P Thread
Planting
Pruning
Preservation

Why stop there? A Tree Biology thread would be amazing, too! A place for scientific studies to be posted would be a fantastic resource for practicing arborists and students of all grade levels as well.

I would love to see a specific thread to compile information rather than in general discussion. I hope this goes through!

Great post @macrocarpa

Still under consideration.

There are some great reasons to put up another Forum on the suggested topic. The reason we take time putting up a new forum is that the discussion gets fragmented down into smaller and smaller groups.

Let me use chainsaws as an easy example.

Right now, there's one forum for chainsaws. Splitting it into forums about chain, chain sharpening, bar maintenance, bar oil...and...obviously, gas/battery, would thin the soup. Better to have one home forum to search.

The topic under consideration,,,is still under consideration.
