You can also hand stitch it, when I do knife sheaths I glue it up then drill 1/16 holes and double stitch with .8mm ritza tiger thread. They come out solid doesn't take super long either.Made out of aluminum and will last a lifetime, with a little thought towards keeping it from getting crushed while not in use.
Another alternative is to have someone make one from leather. All that's needed is a pattern and a HD sewing machine with a walking foot. Oh, and a piece of leather.
