Any one see the new SK900? After talking to my dealer, he said this unit was specifically made for tree care. He said the drive system is way over built for it’s operation capacity, and the arms and attachment plate are made with stronger steel and redesigned.

I have not seen that one, but the factory website also says it was built just for the tree industry. If that’s the case, why does it have those twin stick drive controls? And why can’t they mount the auxiliary hydraulic control in front of the loader controls, like the CTX100? Those two changes would be a huge deal to me. Tracks that are a little more turf friendly would be nice too, make them nice and wide and more of a straight bar so they don’t tear so much on turns.

We ordered a sk800 in August and was supposed to be delivered in March

I believe October I called and asked about the sk900 and change my order to a sk900
They went into production November 1 and I was told I was 10th on the list and schedule a delivery of December 10th

Talked to my salesman last week and he was pretty upset
He told me they postponed the sk800 until July so they could start building the 900 and has only received 1 sk900 so now nether machine

The 900 is the same machine as the 800 besides having a yanmar engine

Twin lever drive controls comes standard but like the other Sk’s can be changed over to a single

I don’t think this machine was specifically designed for tree work

They couldn’t get kubota engines so the went with yanmar instead for availability

The pictures above with the brush guards on the hood and side covers do not come with a 900 but can be added
Side covers do come with a 1550 but does not come with 800-900-1050 but can be added

We have been waiting on a sk1050 since last March, still don't know when we will have it. I also have a sk900 ordered. I will have 2 used 1050s for sale as soon as I get them delivered!

FYI make sure you have the drive controls switched to your preference before you have it delivered, if you do it after the fact they will hit you with an $800 conversion kit charge.

@VenasNursery any updates on your 900? I'm in Washington and its been a nightmare getting a solid answer from our dealer on either a 800 or 900. Originally told we'd have a 800 last December, and I bet you can imagine how thats worked out.

Actually yes just came in the dealer Thursday and they go through every machine with test (to make sure they are 100% )
So he thinks Tuesday it will be delivered!
Ordered a 800 in August November changed it in October to a 900 because it would be delivered December 10th so now it’s end of February 6-1/2 months later

well congats and good to know, gives me a little ammunition to harass my dealer with haha. They've been acting like nobody is getting them yet, although I won't be surprised if they're not allocating machines to the west coast yet. I'd love to see some pics when it comes in!

yeah my dealer received 1 machine in December this is the next load since

I would harass the dealer it’s kind of fun and will post some pics soon

looks basically the same as the 800 (i have a 750). Good idea with a brush guard over the hood and angle irons on the arms, easy to retrofit. They should have put a lightbar come stock on it, also another easy retrofit.
