No More TreeFlex Saddle?

I have been using a TF for over 10 years. It has held up amazingly well. To be fair, only two of those years were full-time production climbing. The past 8 I have done primarily bucket or ground work or climbing in my employer- provided sequoia (which I don't like better than the tf).

I think it got lost in the hype of the treemotion coming out at the same time through sherrill while only Baileys had the TF. sherrill was cool then.

The only thing I have changed was the cover for the bridge. I'm might swap out the shackles for ring opens and replace the bridge.

Tom is the only other person I know who still uses one. We're cool like that though.

@Tom Dunlap question for ya sir

I've been sewing together my own custom harness over the past few weeks (I have an old industrial sewing machine more that capable of the project and the DIY saddle will only ever be used for rec climbing if/when I feel it's safe. Plus sewing it's self is a hobby of mine too so if all else fails no gain, no loss). I've based my design heavily on measurements of a Sequoia (non SRT) I briefly had access to as well as studied the design of many other saddles but never ran across the TF in my research...

Here's my question (posed to anyone with a TF or in the know about it): are the leg loops captured in place by either the rings leading to the bridge adjustors or the secondary TIP webbing? It appears both are floating on the leg loops but I've not seen another harness with both connections fully floating, I would guess there may be some hidden stitching capturing one or the other in place but I can't make it out if so.

Both connections fully floating is a very interesting design feature! Out of shear curiosity how much did this beast cost when available?

@Cereal_Killer

I'll get mine out and take some pics for you.

Here's a little history of the Treeflex

Designed by the combined efforts of an arborist and a physical therapist. Could there be a better combination!?

Treeflex is meant to be worn low in hips to use solid bones for support. Not that fleshy part of our bodies below our rib cage. Ergonomic design has been tossed around harness design but never addressed as well as Dee and Paulo did with the Treeflex

I think that I own the last new TreeFlex harness in the world (thank you again Paolo for your awesome design) and I am still trying to find one more for when this one wears out.

Anybody have one out there that they want to sell?

Does this Chinese copy harness compare in the design?

I tried to order that harness a couple times unsuccessfully, should have taken the effort to contact them like you did. Someone on Arbtalk posted looking for one recently.

Seems that the Camp tree evo would be worth a try for those looking for something even close to similar.
