Anyone have experience with Petzl Control 12.5 rope and ZigZag in Ddrt setup?

I've been thinking about trying a kernmantle rope in my 2:1 rig made with a Petzl rescue pulley (1.5" diameter) and a ZZ. The rope comes with an eye splice, which is a plus. It seems like a Petzl rope would have a good chance of working really well with the ZZ. Any opinions on the Petzl rope or similar alternatives would be welcome.

The rope is for recreational use, and my climbing weight is 180 pounds.

I've used Petzl Control 12.5mm with the Spiderjack 3, it has been by far my favorite Ddrt climbing line that I've used. The stretch isn't too much, and the hand grip is excellent, you just have to get used to the weight of a larger line.

I've been interested in the Petzl Flow myself, same tiny splice but 11.6mm instead of 12.5mm. For the application I'm considering, I'm actually more interested in the fact it is a splice that can go through a rope sleeve, as much or more as it getting through the ZigZag. I use almost entirely 200' lines (thanks, tall PNW firs) which are frequently in a backpack and on my back. Because of that the weight/size add up quick. For whatever reason Wespur says '(Item Is Unavailable)' for all the various Flow options, but I can find it on Amazon...

I think this is referring to the fact that Wespur is unable to splice Petzl Flow as it is a proprietary factory splice.

Does Petzl actually make their own rope? If not, who makes it for them?

I always thought they did. And do their own splicing. All the splices I've seen from them are seen though.

Just a heads up, while the petzl flow splice will physically fit through the zig zag, you still need to tie throw line or something on it to pull it through. It's almost not worth jt to me, Id rather just thread the zig zag through the free end than try to deal with getting it through the splice. 99 percent of the time I leave the zig xzag on my rope.

Petzl does not make their own rope, but I can’t remember right off who does make it for them. There’s a thread on here about that somewhere.

Yah, I've watched some videos on the rope and actually getting it through the ZigZag. It doesn't exactly look easy and not something you'd do up a tree. But for a lot of trees I work in, I find a rope sleeve works better than other friction saver devices and getting through that and taking it off easily when needed would be handy. I've got... a few... ZigZags, so they live on various ropes for me as well, never really coming off.

Here is an unspliced 1/2" rope, the 3/4" version of the Dan House Rope Sleeve and two different ropes and splice types. TreeStuff claims "3/4" size will pass a tight eye splice" but that sure isn't the case with any of my spliced ropes. That rather specific application for me where the Flow/Control rope seems it may work well for me.

I believe Cousin is the company that manufactures the flow rope and I also think they own the eye splice that originally was on there Atrax line which was the first to my knowledge to fit in the zig zag

Whoever does their sewn splices for the Sequoia rope bridge is not good at that...many complaints about that I've seen on here...but their sewn splices on my zillion lanyard looks on par with everyone else's and I really like their plastic sleeve at the splices that holds your biner tightly...haven't had it for long tho
