Does everybody realize, that to have a patent on something you make (and use to make a living/feed your family I might add, in frankhausers case) you have to pursue any potential infringements to keep your patent valid? That's how the system works.

frankhauser has worked really hard for years to make the haas and make it affordable and get it out there to help arborists. He has contributed a lot to our community thou he has never drawn attention to himself for doing so. Which may make it harder to see for people who just read what's on the internet.

Rant complete, carry on with all this chicken little bullshit

My sincere apologies to the readership here for imagining that there might exist a remote intention on the part of some individual, (Mr. Innocent) assisted through his legal counsel, to grasp world domination of the bungee assisted knee ascender market...AND also take the moral high ground. It is undoubtedly a steep hill to climb, and a willing suspension of disbelief is required. But it's possible, I reckon, if enough effort is put into it. I've read somewhere that with practice, even a polygraph test can be beaten.
Clearly, everyone here is a gentleman...(even JeffGu ;)), so no worries.

Well, like, yeah Levi.
We should only have the option of using one brand of 16 and 24 strand climbing lines, one helmet manufacturer, one carabiner manufacturer, one truck choice. etc, etc.
Makes our world less complicated and encourages free enterprise and innovation.

I always assumed the HASS was an adaption of the Beranek Rope walker....which has been around for years. Which feature of the HASS does the patent cover, does anyone know ?

Hey Reg.....sent you a PM a week ago...know you might be busy...give me a holla...

So I had an online order all queued up to go and then cancelled it. Went to Wesspur, bigger discount (yours may vary) but no sales tax. When did that start at TS? If I wanted to pay sales tax I would have just stopped by American Arborist. While not huge dollars for some of you, the new business model just cost them $600 dollars of my hard earned money.

We just got a "Use Tax" audit from the state of WI..... We had to go back in our records for the past 3 years and pay a "use tax" on all of our TreeStuff orders (Amazon and Wesspur too). I will be happy if TreeStuff collects the sales tax so I don't have to keep track of it anymore.

Yes it was Steve.

While we are on the subject, Nick text me back and it is not something anyone is happy about either. It is not being imposed by Sherrill either. Just another one of those lawyer things.

I do want to apologize to the crew at Tree Stuff for automatically throwing them under the bus though, I just aassumed the worst. Sorry guys.

Wait a second...some of you are blaming TS/ST for being sales tax collectors?!

That's not anything that any business owner that i know wants to be. This is an issue that the local government, city, state or Feds. regulate. When the tax authority tells a company to collect taxes they're obligated to collect.

There should be some sort of uproar about businesses doing the work of the government but not being compensated. Don't direct your ire at this merger...misdirected complaining.
