Yet another Sherrill rip off

This doesn't really bother me and I fail to see how it is an innovation. Ive been climbing with a lanyard with this configuration for years now. If they didn't get a patent on this particular system then its anyones game. Imitation is the highest form of flattery right? Tobe is running a business that needs to stay competitive and its all part of the game.

Is Tobe even with Sherrill these days?
I thought he sold out.

Ordered some stuff from a show 2 weeks ago, still didn't get it. Phoned up and blasted them. Cancelled order and never again. vermeer should not even sell arborist supplies cuz they suck sooo bad..

Yeah its just a lanyard. I dont get it though, what do people do with their shortened ropes if not make lanyards. It is beyond me that people would buy a short piece of rope.

Not for the rope...for the nice stitching! Knots work well enough for me in lots of applications.

i think that sterling though is a little special. Isn't it made from a cut resistant material or something?

I think I could make about 120 lanyards with all the shortened pieces of 24 strand, 16 strand, KMIII... the only reason I keep em is I think to myself, "that could make a good lanyard someday"

True dat Kevin, I got lanyards till 2012. All varieties and colors of rope. I bought the CE lanyard in England and never liked it, hated the OP prussic and the rope was stiff and slippy and the biner I really hated. Tore it up and went back making my own, liked the green pinto though but I already had 4 of those red ones knocking around. Velocity and beeline with vt on pinto and biner snap are my fav all with double fishermans on the snap and two termination fig 8 at the tail.

The pinto pulleys are sweet. pretty nice item. I like the CT fixed plate pulley a lot though too. But the pinto is a beauty.
I think that the DMM oval doesn't work very well with the pinto though. They are poorly matched. The CT oval or even the petzl OK works better with the pinto. The I-beam spine of the DMM oval is the awkward part. The CT oval is nice and round. CT makes the best carabiner.

Looking closer at sherrills ad, i think your right Adrian, some sort of nod should be given or at least not claim all the credit for it. Its definitely not a Sherill new innovation anymore than the Dan house rope sleeve is..

I really dont like oceans for hitch cord either. It works but I find it stiff and unresponsive. That is why youll never find my buying a set piece of gear like that. I am way too finicky. Somethings I may like and other things i find to be garbage.

Yeah Kevin I agree the DMM ovals suck ( that I beam groove is weird ), me I dig the petzl OK or the rock exotic O's. But the smoothness of the rock o"s and the way the posi lock opens is tooo sweeet. I have not felt them but treestuff has some nice looking ISC ovals so maybe I buy a couple and see how they are. As for Sherrill they copped attitude with me trying to do my first order and Wesspur has won out big time. Because I live in the islands and I can't try out stuff I usually buy what I think I might like and so I do a lot of reselling if I can find a buyer. Got me a big junk box, but just got rid of major gear early this year doing business with a fellow buzzer states side. As for prussic cord I am too super finiky, I like my vt loose and not grippy as I prefer to set mine always. I like it sensitive, and I never sit back until I got that HRC or Beeline set. Ocean, tenex take a backseat, gave all them away, keepers are icetail, ultratech but still not a fan but now got to get me some armorprus 8mm to try out. I ain't falling for gimmicks no more especially since I have made friends with good climbers states side that sees this stuff first hand. Sorry for the derail. Sherrill should not take credit for something that they did not create, it's a copy and that ain't cool.

I love isc gates, but honestly their new oval is about the most useless biner ever. For some reason they made it about three inches thick so it wont even go through an eye and eye prussic, a rigging plate, a hitch climber, a fixe .... Looks very strong... But if you cant clip it to anything then whats the point? Im going to have to try the rock o's,

Thumbs up big time for the rock O's lovely shape and finish and it is a perfect thickness. Thanks for letting me know about the ISC's being a dud won't waste the precious dollars.

I have noticed the same thing with the one I purchased. I like the DMM Ultra O's though. The "I" beam doesn't bother me at all.

my issue wiyh the DMM is the gate is crummy. I only have a problem with it with the pinto pulley. not much of a problem but its a clunky fit. the CT fits in the pinto much better. The ISC gates are awesome, very well made, but if I cant put it through a nice tight eye splice than they become a liability.
