Workshop Interest?

Either rigging or AR would interest me. Especially if they were more of a practical than you normally find. Like the rigging seminar you put on at ISA annual conf in RI in 08 or 09, whenever it was. That was my first conference. You were dumping logs into a line with a dynamometer on the block. I learned a lot at that one.

An AR Practical like the one I missed last year would be most interesting to me.

I'd love to but I'm on the wrong coast, and no chance of flying out... Personally we don't do too much with crane work...

Last time I went it was the crane workshop at Wilson park which was real nice. Personally I'd rather see some rigging. Maybe have some X-slings? They seem to be new to tree rigging.

You should bring a video crew

crane and rigging for sure

come to think of it , do all 3 segments. the aerial rescue is the least trait used in the field on a daily basis, least familiar , so attention should be given there also

For you Ontario guys I know the OCAA is hosting a bunch of work shops and I believe 3 (might be 2) crane seminar/workshops this year

Ocaa is only doing 3 1day 0-8 ton ass covering classes. Which I don't even want to draw attention to. Seems the cool thing to do up here recently is to send your guys to an 8 ton course and then turn them loose with a 55 + ton machine. And just because the fly jib isn't rated for more than 8 ton they think that's ok.
Yeah I second that! Bigwood will even put you up at his place!
pretty sure I could rustle up a kboom a couple boom trucks and maybe a 60ton .
Just need a location.

There you go I didn't know the details just that they were doing some. We sent a guy for the 0-8 ton course but our little hi-ab on our 550 easily stays in the limits.

Ha ha yeah I know what your saying, I do have mine but am not intending to do that! I have a part time guy that has his full crane license to run whatever when the time comes to buy he will be the one running it! The guy that did ours said next year they were planning on making it a 0-15 ton certificate course plus a rigging course and hand signal course. Everyone who has 0-8 ton already will be grandfathered in. I can likely get a location pretty easily also!

Good deal Mark, thanks for the post. I'd love to swing by, just too many big things going on back home. Sure you'll understand.

Betcha Xman has interest in rigging and crane stuff. Heck, tell him you want him demonstrating KBoom and rigging. Show off them fancy x slings.

Pics and vid guys don't forget!

I'd be interested in any of the above. I attended one of the advanced climbing and rigging classes at rutgers you put on a few years ago mark. Enjoyed it but there were too many newbies for an advanced class. I'd really like to take a class on crane work though.

Thanks,

Mike

Hmmmm.

Lots of rigging interest these last few years. So cool.
I think Mark and I would get along very well.
I could do the rigging and cutting and he could explain, he's great. And ALL rings and THT though, I don't use blocks unless lots of tip tying and long lifts.

We were going to create our own rigging "camp" after so many requests these last two years.

But I'm open to working with someone real like Mark.

I would not even one-hand, not once, the WHOLE day.
