What stopper knot?

What stopper knot do you guys tie in your treemotion saddles and ergovations? Ive been using a one sided fishermen's knot and just replaced the bridge and the replacement was pre-knotted on one side with something other then this. Thanks for your input.

Doublefishermans and then I mark the tails with black sharpie for easier monitoring of creep. I've heard 5 to 7 times the rope diameter for your tail so just keep it longer and watch it every climb.

I believe that the confusion with the name of this knot comes from the fact that it is, in essence, a 'double overhand knot,' and two of them tied on the same rope to form an adjustable loop is called a 'double fisherman's loop.'

It seems to me that it is common practice now to call the double overhand a 'double fisherman's.' Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, this has been a 'bone of confusion' for me for a while!

aint that a scaffold knot?? i looked around for a week or 2 for a good termination knot and came up with that off'n sherrilltrees knot website n utube...

i've tryed it the last couple climbs n i love it it cinches up against the biner so theres no worry about side load...

what is the difference in the scaffold versus the fishermans tho i swear it looks like the same knot mabey the extra wrap on the fishermans??

Mahk Adams cleared this bit of nomenclature up a while ago. Does anyone have a link?

The double half hitch is the basis for a whole bunch of other knots. If it's used to tie two ends together its called a double fisherman's. If its used on a bite its called a scaffold hitch.

Of course there are other names that have been used. Think of know nomenclature like tree names. By using the scientific name two people can agree. Using common names causes confusion.
