What are these?

I got these in a mega bag o rope which is awesome but I don't know what size and exactly what make they are and I want to do some splicing any help would be tight.

I was thinking tenex and tenex tec but the black and red one has me stumped.

It's not tenex so those color reference might not hold true. There were several sizes of each color that went out in BOR

nerex? I have never even heard of that. New England T-Rex?

I just want to be sure and not mess up my splices.

It's a twelve strand hollowbraid like tenex made by New England / Teufelberger. Coated polyester. Class 1 splice

I've have similar assortment from the bag o rope (sadly missed the mega bag deal) I class 1 spliced them as whoopie slings and dead eyes, and a hell of eye and eye (for when I get my truck stuck). I'm new to splicing but hollow braid makes even me look good ;-)

Is the 1/2" nerex suitable for ring slings?

I have about 40' of it, but I thought it was 5/8". Have to double check now because it's blue and came in a BOR. I'm sure it'll be fine for relatively light rigging.

I suppose the smart thing to do is dig up the specs.

I believe 1/2 nerex is 12,550 lbs min.b.s. so for light rigging it should be more than adequate.

Thanks for the welcome, I've been following the forums for awhile I mostly do light duty removals. I am self taught follow Several channels on YouTube, and love following everyone's banter on the buzz for knowledge. Been cutting trees since I was a kid, just started working in them a few yrs ago. By the time my fat a$$ gets in the tree I can practically touch the ground (they lean so badly) lol
