WAA Annual Conference

The Wisconsin Arborist Association's Annual Conference is comming up on February 3-5th in Middleton, Wi. This in it's self is a date to remember, but does anyone else have any information on it? I have been looking all over and can't seem to find anything, like who is presenting or what is being presented. I'm trying to drum up interest in going at school, but it is kinda hard when you can't tell them anything about it.

My co-worker is helping to organize the conference and I am not even sure whats on it. I know that Mark C. will be there and that is enough said for me. I saw him give a presentation at MidState a few years back and it was great! If that is not enough for the students, let them know that former Pointer "Chain Saw Paul" aka "Pulp Cut Paul" will be giving a talk also. I will try to remember and ask tomorrow about what other topics and speakers will be there.

Got an e-mail the other day that the line up should be released in about a week.
On the up side, I have about 25 students who plan to attend just off what I had to say from last year. Hopefully not to many of them back out on me. Would be nice to have decent representation from point.

It seems like there have been more MidState students the last few years. I never attended a confrence while I was at Point and now I would never miss one. They are always worth the trip.

Yea, SSA has a lot of young members this year, many of which are going. It will be good for our program to get some members to start being active early. The WAA conferance is a good way to get them excited about the industry.

Chris, have you talked to Rich yet? I would think he would know some about this. Any who, hopefully I will be there, I thought I heard the ole boss man say he wanted me to go to WAA and Point twice this up coming semester.

Break out the Hamm's boys!!

Tell the big guy I expect HIM to come on up to WAA. I saw him weekend before Thanksgiving and he was thinking about it. Hope things are going well for you down there.

Dude, I need a job! And I will be there as well.

The climbing competition was always held during the summer conference, but last year they chanced it. They tried a seperate day with the climbing and some vendors, and they tried to market the event to the general public as a way to promote the tree care industry. It was met with very little interest from the public and now there are rumors of switching back to the way it used to be. Personally I think it is a good idea to try and get the public involved so I hope this give it another try... with some changes.

It's too bad they can't get any good speakers these days.
