Anyone been doing trunk injections of any kind. I am looking to treat some cottonwood with florel for fruit ( a waste of time and money in my opinion, but client is requesting it and no one else round here knows much about trees). I'm in hillbilly got me a bucket and an old digger Derrick I kin top your tree flyby night work for beer on weekends Treebutcher territory.

So my question is: . Anyone in Midwest have advice for how to make this treatment most effective ? Ian using the capsule injection into the trunk.

Yesterday we had rain but today the air temp is below 55degrees. Monday is going to be 70 and thunderstorm. I am thinking Monday would be better? Thanks

Active ingredient insole-3-butyric acid. Hmm as I actually type that name I can only imagine what an acid trip that must be for a tree to lose its fruit. Acid was not a drug of my choice and if that is what it does for sex that would explain a lot of things. Lol.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. Any advice on snipper treatment for cotton control on cottonwood specifically?
Good Luck.
I HAVE used Snipper from TreeTech in the the past on a huge walnut tree for a guy in town with a pristine lawn that loves the tree but hates the walnuts. Works some years and some it doesn't.
From my experience and especially from talking to experts on the subject, a fruit eliminator is a very sketchy chemical that is really hard to achieve consistent results with... It's marketed great, but supported so-so

Ah ha. Very interesting. Thank you. Good thing is there are always more cottonwood trees in the area that are not treated so it would be hard to prove the treatment was ineffective.

Just be honest with your customer and tell them that there IS a product that claims to reduce fruit production, in this case cottony seed clusters, but that you can't guarantee the results to be 100% effective. Leave the choice up to them. Then, you're staying honest and if results are shoddy then they aren't pissed at you later...
