Truck advice

I found a ‘97 Dodge 3500 dually with 12 valve Cummins and 89,000 original miles. My dad saw pics and it looks clean and he said little to no rust. He is going to look at it tomorrow. Guy wants 9,995.

Anybody driven a 97 Dodge? I know it will not get as good traction in the snow as it is a dually but it has 4WD.

I read on one forum to make sure a check valve was installed on an oil line.

I’ll rent dump trailers as needed and then buy one from Outlaw Trailers.

Thanks for any advice or things to watch for.

I have not, but a friend once warned me to beware the transmissions on the pre ‘99s, as they tended not to last very long. I can’t say too much about that though, as that is based on hearsay from various sources and not actual experience. The dually in snow is a bit of a challenge empty, but with the right tires and a good driver it will go well enough.
