What arrogance on the NFL as well as Nashville’s planners. Treat players and trees like disposable napkins. There is nothing heartening to me when I read that the ‘compromise’ is to transplant ten trees Grrrrr!

I've been fighting a similar battle here. Apparently the city parks department doesn't like trees. The city owns and manages through the parks dept, a softball complex that was constructed for the '96 Olympics. The parks dept wanted to remove all trees within the complex because they interfere with play. And so the battle rages on. Thankfully tree advocacy groups that aren't affected by internal politics have stepped up swinging.

Interferes with play...and mowing!

The Maintenance department would give Forestry a bad time when we'd do big mass plantings in parks. Plant 40 trees 20-30 feet apart takes up a large area...and now smaller mowers and turns are required. Maintenance was NOT happy. Fortunately Forestry has more power and support internally and from the public.
