TM accessory biners ? What and Where?

Wondering what everyone is using for clips on the Tree Motion. I personally don't like the Caritools they break too easy and everything gets hung in the cut out for the gate making one handed release of my saw lanyard difficult. I have always liked the Kong helium it has good gate action and no cut out. But I've yet to find a good configuration for it on the TM. It twists and flips around and it's starting to rip the saddle. What are you all using and in what spot?

Hey Bill, Welcome. I use two wire gate carabiners on my right hip for my ring and ring style bungee chainsaw lanyard. Although I usually do a head check when re-attatching my chainsaw, the carabiners stay somewhat perpendicular and the wire gates allow me to make something of a striking motion when re-attatching the rings. Caritools are big as a crane hook and I hear a lot of the same complaints about them although I've not tried them. Optimally your chainsaw should hang directly behind you because it would load your spine more "plum"...but again, I've not tried it and I don't know anyone who wears their saw behind them. btw my saw sits at about the 4-5 oclock possition on me.

Hi whiz, thx for the feedback. What type of wire gate biners are you using? Do they stay in place? Do you hang them in the spots made for the caritools? I also hang my saw off my hip. I never thought off hanging it in the middle, but it makes sense. I have tried hanging a clip through the caritool spots, halfway throught coming out the small hole, and just through the small hole. In all these configurations the clip is sloppy and flips around. Also the small hole is starting to rip. Plus the weight of a saw pulling makes the attachment material slide and bunch up making the clip even looser. I love my TM but i miss how on my old Buckingham the clips were nice and tight, always in the same spot never flipped to the side or upsidedown.

Big caritool upside down trough the 2 slings on the side off the TM. Works great and not much problems with it catching branches or whatever. The big caritool won't break even with a MS880 in it ;-)

It's a lot easier to click in the chainsaw using it upside down. Just add a climbing carabiner to the chainsaw and pul it up against the wired gate and it will flip right in.

Other thing is branches won't get as easy caugt in this position.

Bill, there is also a metal unit made for the Butterfly that might work with the TM... It's got a narrow flat plate on the spine to keep it in position, and it's not huge like the Caritool. Problem is it's $50. George has'em at Shelter.

Thx for the idea's.
I have one more large caritool, (I lost the gate on the last one) I will try hanging it upside down.
And next time I go to shelter I'll check out the flat spine clip.
The Petzl spirit looks a lot like the Kong Helium (at least from the pic's) I would probably love it if I could find a way to hang it so it stays in place.
Thanks again for the feedback :)
