throwbag repair

Found a bunch of shot rolling around in the bottom of my throwline bucket. Either small game season has opened, or one of my bags is leaking (been watching a lot of CSI -- I'm pretty sure it's a busted bag).

Other than a wad of duct tape, is there a durable/cheap way to fix a leaky bag?

A wad of electrical tape.

It actually holds up pretty well until it gets really cold out then it sometimes busts open hitting cold hard ground.

That's what I use on the vinyl type throwbags. I can't imagine stitching them with much luck. If its the canvas type i can see sewing it back together, but never tried personally.

If you catch it early(or you could do it to them new) you can dip them in plastic dip..... you can find this at Home depot or any other hardeware store. this will make your bags last about twice as long

sooo many throw bags.... I'm rough on them.
It's not so much the cost.
it's needing one thats not busted!
find yourself different weight deepwell sockets, then rubber coat them as described above.
they work real good when wet.... slips through even the tightest crotch. >:P

Stitch the hole if you can.

The adhesive that I've found that works really well is called 'The Welder'. The last couple of tubes have come from Lowes or Home Depot. The second best is the same as SRTech found, marine grade Goop.

I use The Welder when anything starts to break apart. Dab a bit on, close the two pieces together and mush them around. Then prop the two pieces apart to let the surfaces get tacky. Then put them together and add a strip of masking tape over the repair. I've used this to repair shoes, packs, gloves...
