The Liger?

I converted last fall and I love it. I really like being able to switch out the bridge so easily. Plus the rigging plates are rated higher than the rings which is comforting and the added attachment points are great.

I thought it was a great idea when I first saw Rich using it at Pittsburgh...It just was'nt for me...If your going for the Treemotion feel get a Treemotion...I personally dont like either and climb in a Sequoia...

I like it for reasons already posted. Easily replace/adjust bridge. You can adjust how high or low your bridge is, relatively easily. And having a lanyard attachment between the hips and legs is great.

The question is, would be it be competition legal? I'm always afraid to admit that I have converted to the Liger because it's changing the stock saddle so much. Any thoughts on that?

Yah pretty much Nick,I think I had $275 in my Cougar setup that way...And that is what makes it a great option for many...It's just my personal opinion that if your going for that kind of "feel" in a saddle, than it's worth saving for a Treemotion...

I guess I'm trying to figure out why it's called a "Liger" - where does the "Li" come from?

I like Nap Dyna as much as the next guy - just trying to understand the etymology - or if it was just a nod to the film.

Can't you get 2 ligers for the cost of one treemotion?

You can't wear two Ligers at a time. Get a TM. You get what you pay for.

exactly man, 7 hours in-tree yesterday in my TM, dead removal, and I was comfy the whole time, well except for the rigging dead stuff off dead stuff, that made my a$$hole pucker, which was not comfy ;)

I've been enjoying my Tree Austria III lately, especially after I cut the webbing strap and ring off and replaced it with rope and a swivel. Buy a pricey saddle and modify it into a Cougar, how's that for backwards?
