Will do sorry didn't know they was that small stupid phone.

You can right click and save the pic and resize it. I get on it latter I have somethings I have to get done.

Ok I resized them sorry if they are a tad burry.

If need be I'll take new pics and start a new thread.

The Ideal thing for this knot would be for 2 small post to be welded to the top of the ring to capture the very top loop.

Now who's a ring maker that I could talk to? Anyone have any contacts?

what type/size of cordage did you use? mine wouldnt grip... I think the 8mm prusik is to close the the 11mm rope... so I made some mods so it would catch but it doesnt move as fast as id like.

describe a little bit of the application of this knot and why is the ring there? what is better about it than a vt? explain. does it act as a heat sink or something? I like the metal and rope action going on. tight

A few years back I played with using a french link as a quick release for a VT/bachmann style knot. it didnt work that well, now that I see how he has integrated the ring into the prusik it has brought new life to the Idea of a faster running knot with less heat. but now that ive started playing with this style it seems to transfer alot of heat directly to my split tail, I think it still needs work but some experimentation just might pay off. Im definitely going to keep playing with the idea. and some more imput would be great, especially where to get thin strong heat resistant cordage in the 7mm range. I think that is the key to this style of friction hitch, the stuff i have is spectra type which is no good, but some 7mm ultra tech would be great. anyone know where to get some?

here is that pic again of my split tail after working just one tree with this style hitch

The ring is included into the knot to make it easier to release and help with heat. 5-6mm cord grips way to tight to get an easy release.

it breaks lose easier and grabs every time. No worries about checking the set.

when you reach a hight and the weight of the rope is their, I've seen this knot self tail. I'd say one of the best things I like about this knot is being used as a foot lock prusik. Tie the knot as shown, leave out the pulley, use an oversized biner, put your hand in the biner it works as smooth as a hand acender. Try it you see.

Is that melting? Or is it glazing from dirt? To me it just looks like a drit glaze. As you can see it's a cool knot only 3 parts of rope touch the rest is the ring.
