shindaiwa 757

Hey, any of you guys ever used the shindaiwa 757? It is one ugly machine, but I'm a little intrigued. I've had a 357 for years now and it is a reliable, powerful, and most of all Quiet! saw. Any opinions on other quiet larger saws?

I run a couple of 757's. I really like the saw. Ain't ugly to me either. The only thing that is different about this saw is that it runs best around 12,000 rpm. Not a speed demon. The great low-end torque more than makes up for the slight lack of speed. The 757 responds real good to muffler mods too. The 757 is ONE rock solid saw!!!

Just be careful mentioning any brand saw except Stihl on this site. you're likely to have several members inquire as to what size batteries it takes.
I've learned my lesson. I'll keep saw discussions to forums with more open attitudes.

Alright Brian, point heard. Time to move on. I too learned a lesson. Now can we forget all this? All we really have here is info to exchange and our opinions. Do we all need to agree on everything? I myself like diversity .

I ran a Shin.757 for 2 yrs., although I was hesitant to try anything but Stihl and Husky I soon discovered this saw was a power house and would rev till the dogs howl. We also had a 377 for climbing/bucket work and I was equally impressed. Tough saws, low maintainace and reasonable prices.

I have 2 757's: one with a 32" bar/full skip chain 7 tooth sprocket, the other a 24" bar/full comp chain 8 tooth sprocket. I ran the 24" this past weekend. What a powerhouse this saw is!
