Sherrill Show

There's something going on in Orlando on 12/16, sponsored by Sherrill and Vermeer. Anyone have the details on this? Is this gonna be more of a sales pitch than tree climbing?

The show of which you speak is going to consist of demos useing products available from Sherrill/ Vermeer of course. So in that respect it will be a sales pitch. On the other hand I am quite confident that the presenter will have plenty of info of interest to even the more seasoned climber. Besides being an ArborMaster instructor, he has been the head technical advisor at the ITCC for several years, and more importantly a climbing arborist for 28+ years. It will be a great time I am sure. Hope to see you there.

Nope, not that one Nick. I'm sure the Bruce Smith we're talking about is much larger and way better looking.100% tree guy too.

Just for everyones benefit, I believe that vermeer FT Myers is doing a rigging seminar on the 12th of December and the Clearwater store is doing climbing on the 14th with Orlando on the 16th. Hope to see you there.

I've met the treeman Bruce Smith. I could hardly stand the heat in Nashville (would've been better at fair -10C, nothing better than climbing trees at -10C) hard to believe he does worse on a regular basis.

Hey Mangoes,
You are right, it does get hot and humid here in sunny Florida, but I would most likely be miserable if I had to work in the conditions you guys deal with.Snow and ice and unlevel ground are not something I would be used to. I am a 4th generation native Floridian... at least, as my greatgrandparents on my dads side were seminole indians. My ansestory dosent make it any easier to deal with the heat and the "air you can wear" here. Lita and I are considering a future move to someplace that has more than just one season a year. Hopefully I will be able to find employment in the treecare industry. Its all Ive ever done, so I cant imagine not continuing, just not climbing every day or dragging brush or the other countless thousands of things I do now. I dont need to tell you. Its part of being selfemployed. But then again you are much younger than I.See you in Minneapolis next year. I take on the job of assistant head judge for one year then become head judge in Hawaii. By the way ,Thanks again for all your help with ITCC.

Thanks for posting these learning opportunities. I may try to catch one in the winter when I visit Mommom in Sarasota!

BTW, Bruce Smith is the man for many reasons. He is a treeman for life, volunteer of countless hours of service, and most of all a great guy! /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks so much for those kind words Mark. They mean alot coming from you. I have the highest respect for you and all that you do for this profession and its people. You are a true champion in many ways. If I haven't said it before, Thank you for everything you do for this industry. Just as an update, the Orlando seminar has 100 attendees already signed and paid. The FT Myers and Clearwater stores are still up in the air due to the reschedule because of our stormy season. I'll keep everyone posted.
Bruce
