Sewing while Sheltering in Place

I've been working on making ditty bags, myself. Already put the sewing machine out of commission! Hopefully Amazon will bless me with a bountiful delivery of heavy duty needles in the near future so I can get to it again.

Anything that keeps you from touching your mouth and nose, including a bandanna, is probably gonna stop > 50% of the routes of infection, and if it also stops say half of all airborne sneeze/cough/spit aerosols, I bet that puts it up over 95%.

Not a doctor but I once drove by a Holiday Inn Express...

She custom made one for me:

She knew I’d rather die than be seen in public in a hot pink flowery mask.
(Got the Block O centered and everything!) I guess I’ll keep her.

PS: I know most of you would prefer death to wearing an Ohio State mask. I get it.:ROFLMAO:

Remember that you can get the virus on your hands when you take the mask off, so the washing up is critical, immediately. The cloth masks are great because they are washable; soap and water kills this stuff as well as Lysol, alcohol, etc. We have to becomes used to considering everything we touch if we go out for supplies, the steering wheel, wallet and credit card when we pay, the car keys, door handles, the groceries themselves that others may have handled before us, etc. The mask and gloves are useless if we touch anything before taking them off, things that we have to touch again soon. One careless slip at the wrong time can expose us. I am near Seattle and the sodding stuff is spreading North steadily towards us. We are being told now to treat every single person around us as potentially having it.

Went to venture to get gas and deposit a check at the ATM the other day.
Good thing I had a bunch of napkins with me.
I hadn't given thought to punching in my zip code at the pump or lifting the handle.
Stared at the touch screen at the bank for a while before getting my nerve and grabbed another napkin to make my deposit.
That shit got real for the first time for me then.

Things you haven't thought of having to do yet gets sobering at that moment it needs to get done.
You guys stay safe out there.

Keep a roll of doggy bags in your vehicle for covering your hand while using the pump. Better than napkins.

Good idea. Or even plastic grocery bags, particularly if you bag your groceries yourself, as I've been doing lately in the self-checkout lanes...fewer hands on each bag...
