Hi everyone,
I'm looking to sell my tree care company, located in Cody, Wyoming, about 50 miles from the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park. My wife was accepted into a PhD program in Indiana, so we're moving this summer.
We've been in business since August 2012, and have grown consistently at a rate of 10%, with last year's growth reaching 15%. 2019's gross was $133k, and with the right person to take over the company, we're poised for significant, continued gains. We won a two year contract doing right-of-way pruning (primarily for sanitation, not electrical ROW) with the City of Cody last year, which will be in effect until November 2021 (worth $15-25k/year). We professionally rebranded our company last year. This includes a new logo, website, and brand story. Our company's focus is evidence based tree care, preservation, and low impact removals. Our niche in the area is our technical climbing and rigging skills, and our ability to work in areas inaccessible to equipment.
Equipment:
We have a 1998 GMC C5500 with an Asplundh forestry body, and a 1998 Vermeer BC1800A with the Perkins Diesel (replaced with a Perkins reman in spring 2018) as our main setup.
As a backup (or potential 2nd crew) we have a 1982 Ford F250 with a box and dump bed, and an 1982 Asplundh JEY series Whisper Chipper.
Hand Tools: We run Stihl equipment, and included in the purchase are a complement of MS series saws, from the 150, to the 461, as well as hedge trimmers.
Also included:
-Two sets of climbing gear, with the ability to run SRT or DdRT in both kits (with a ropewalking setup)
-Two sets of rigging equipment (heavy and light) with a plethora of x-rings, pintos, and other miscellaneous rigging tools.
-Shop tools to maintain equipment.
I'm asking $125k for the whole outfit, and I'm happy to provide as much help as possible for a transition. As I said above, 2019's gross was $133k, and our consistent growth for the last 5 years has been 10%. An owner can comfortably make $50-60k right now, and with a little investment, could significantly grow the company. We've been making moves the last 6-8 months to really set the company up for growth, but with my wife's PhD opportunity, we have to move.
You can check out the company a little more at http://arborsolutionscody.com/ , https://www.facebook.com/ArborSolutionsTreeCare/ , and on Instagram @arborsolutionstreecare
I'm happy to provide more detailed financials and equipment lists to interested parties. Email me at arborsolutionstreecare@gmail.com.
Thanks!
