Safety Glasses

I bought a 4 pack of cheap clear 3M safety glasses from Home Depot. They are not fog resistant lenses. To make them fog resistant I ordered Clarity DeFogit from TreeStuff.com It has been working decently well for me. Even cheap glasses last long if you keep them from getting scratched. I keep a long wool sock in my gear bag. When I'm not using my glasses I store them in there. It keeps them from getting scratched. At all times I carry clear and tinted for any condition. Another product that I have been using for very foggy days are Safe Eyes mesh safety goggles. They will never fog and they can't be scratched. If you buy the "fine size mesh" it is z87.1 ANSI approved for tree work. This is the only mesh goggle that is ANSI approved.

Bolle solis are about 15 bucks, they are the only ones I have tried so far that are really comfortable and they dont look terrible.. but still look like safety glasses..

These are my favorite.

They cost more initially, but the replacement lenses are about as much as a decent set of "disposable" glasses. The thin frame past the ears is nice for hearing pro, but you'll need the included strap to keep them on your head when sweating.

The Rx inserts work as well as any I have ever used.

Been using these consistently for about three years. I have been through 1 frame (they got yanked of my head by a vile piece of brush and were never quite the same). and maybe 6 lenses of various colors.

I bought a pair of Edge polarized glasses at the TCIA expo this year. They were $20, the most I have paid for safety glasses. I have been wearing them daily since then. I rarely wear regular sunglasses anymore. They fit well, which is difficult for my weird head, and they are very sexy. I just got a scratch on them a week ago. I think that's pretty good. I'll buy another pair if I see them somewhere. I think I bought them from American Arborist.

I have a recommendation, place a fat order at Galetons. A few months back I handed each guy on the crew the catalog and gave them a certain colored sharpie and told them to pick 4 pair. Each guy did that, and I ordered 16 different pairs of glasses. They are like $5 each or less in many cases. So the whole order was way less than $100. We all got to see and try a TON of pair and it turned out practically everyone likes the Sportster. So now that's all we order. Problem solved :)

The ones we like are on the top left. $3 a pair. I like the tinted for sunny days, blue for non sunny days. Some guys on the crew like clear and some yellow. So we just get a mix of those every once in a while.

Been wearing the Nemesis. They have a wide nose bridge which puts the lenses closer to the eyes. For someone who always seems to get something in his eyes, these glasses seem to provide the most consistent protection.

Me I use SPY optics polarized lenses, I live in the tropics where terigiums and cataracts are prevalent, these are safety rated and you just gotta keep em in a safe place when not in use...I find cheap safety glasses feel that way poor fitting and the lenses are not very good...Just my opinion and I am sure lots like the cheaper styles as they go through many pairs....I have had these for years, and I must say here I have worn some stihl brands occasionally and they are not bad but still not nice like my faithful SPYS.....They are my eyes so money don't matter....

I don;t know what brand I'm wearing. The important thing is that they have 3.00 diopter lenses down in the lower quadrant :)

There are stick on cheaters that look like a fish scale. A set is on my welding helmet. The ones that I put on my Kask faceshield got flaked off quickly. It was really nice having them there while they lasted.
