Rip off geckos ?

I can't personally attest to the quality, but search for " evoke gear" with the search function.
Poor craftsmanship with poor quality materials. Probably made by a poor 7 year old in a sweatshop.
You'd be so much better off buying some used but good quality ones.

Give the credit and $ where it is due. Have had a pair of Geckos for years and am still in love with em, 5hrs in knockoffs and your shins will probably fall off...

I do mostly rec climbing and structural pruning so I don’t think I would ever need gaffs but was curious what people thought. Apparently, like everything else with gear, you get what you pay for. I would like to have a pair in hand just in case I do ever need them but that might be next years tax refund. This year was the akimbo!

I did some big removals with no spurs. Sure spurs help a lot but save your money if you aren’t doing a removal. And if you are, buy a set and make the profits from the job pay for them. That’s what I did my first year of business

Are these knock-offs any good?
Youll probably need a pair of these to go with your Chinese knock offs..

Lol.. but for real.. you can buy Geckos overseas for seriously cheap $$ compared to what vendors here charge..

Now in the same breath, I'm going to say.. Notch just came out with something that is relativley inexpensive compared to what's being charged for Geckos here.. not aluminum but may be worth a peek. Personally, I'd like to give the Edelrids with the big ole spacecraft looking pads a try.. & again way cheaper to purchase overseas.. about half the cost...3 something vs 6

Yeah I saw that. As I said before I really do t have the need for them in the tree because I do mostly structure pruning and rec climbing. I was just interested in what people thought. If I did have a need I think I would go the route of those new notch. I havent actually had to wear a pair of gaffs.

A set of spurs should last a lifetime and then some. If you end up needing a set and want to save a few bucks, ebay always has some decent stuff from reputable companies.

I switched from steel Buckinghams to aluminum Bashlins. The Bashlins were pole gaffs, so I bought tree gaffs to put on them, and swapped the straps and pads from the Bucks. Less than 200$ into them total though. Watch newly listed with a buy it now price and sometimes there's smoking deals.
