Real Green software

Real green looks fantastic and more than adequate. It would do all that I need it to and more. The drawbacks are that it isn't cloud based and doesn't work on smartphones. Also it's not cheap at the outset and carries an annual service plan fee. After 6 years of use, real green is cheaper than service ceo with two users (4 years if you don't buy the mapping feature of realgreen and don't include printing costs)

Are you aware of the initial set up fee? The smallest is 2500 plus you have to pay their tech to come to your place for two days. You are responsible for the airfare, food and lodging. This is about 3500 total plus the 150 a month or so. We already surpass the smallest client limit so i think it would cost us like 5-6K to get started.

Didn't think the setup was mandatory. Seems like te software is simple enough I can learn it on my own.

If your "active" clients are under 500 you can use the cheaper version. The inactive clients still get stored but you can turn them off or on. We probably have 200-300 active clients but a database of 2k. That's the way it was 'splained to me anyway.

Nick, I agree that this shite is expensive but if you want to manage more than a couple hundred clients with a variety of jobs and schedules and multiple crews, it's well worth it.

about 5 years ago i was crossing the street with my clipboard full of paper work orders and i dropped it scattering the sheets all over the road. They were my only records of the jobs since i wasn't even digital. Using inadequate software will lead to pretty much the same thing: a mess of clients and work orders with lost jobs and revenue and lost revenue potential.

I can do all that for about $25/month with Routzy, and a free google account for the scheduling. It all fits on my $800 iPad that can also play angry birds. Does Real Green play angry birds? :)

Any program that requires you to fly someone out to your office is doing something wrong in this day and age. Technology is TOO good for me to have to buy someone an airplane ticket. Imagine if you bought a $25,000 chipper and they said you had to book a hotel for the sales guy. That's absurd!

I don't have days and days to devote to understanding a software program and let's be honest, if I cleared two days for someone to come out and I gave it my full 100% undivided attention....a month after they left how much am I going to remember? 10%??? It's just ludicrous.

I think these guys making the $30/month program that you can learn on your own with youtube in a few hours...that's where it's at. So far my two favorite are Routzy and Jobber.
