PPE Helmet

Location

Good evening

Does anyone use a helmet like in the first pic for climbing? I just thought I'd ask before sending the helmet in pic #2 back to TreeStuff. It just doesn't fit my big melon haha
I can adjust it to the largest setting but still a no-go. So with all the rain we've had today I've been nerdin out online, I understand that the helmets designed for Arborist have the thick styrofoam as "insurance" in the case of blunt force/log smacking you in the head. Where the other style helmet isn't. But if it doesn't fit, something has to be better than pic #3

I went with the less expensive Black Diamond helmet and had no fitment issues. I can't help much in regards to size and fitment, but I will add that my motorcycle helmets are size XXL. I did fab and add a small bill to the front edge in order to deflect more dust/debris away from my face. Monkeylove suggested the Sena communications system, but since I rarely work with the same helper, I didn't bother. I work alone mostly and the HO is often the only help I've got on the ground.

I just installed the Sena a few months ago. Easy to install yourself and cheap enough if you look online. I know what you saying about mostly working alone or with a variety of help, but the added safety and better communication is priceless even if it only gets used once or twice a year.

Priceless on a mundane day of redundancy and having your tunes in as well.... can always beep in and speak to someone when need be. Keep the muffs "open" so you can hear others if need be.

Just curious if anyone uses the helmet in the middle pic? All types of sports use them from sky divers, skate boarders, rock climbers, heck even Special Forces guys originally used some similar.

If it is designed to protect your head , use it. Might be hotter or less protective but anything is better than nothing. I imagine our hats are designed for objects falling from above and skateboard hats are designed more for side impacts.

hey man not trying to be a know it all or anything, but i think that saw in the first pic is to small for that log.
Hahaha that's the new 150c It's a real work horse

Jk
Did my face notch with 261 before it needed fuel. Just back cut it with 201
Sorry if my terms aren't all correct, I'm still learning. Side note that new 201t- CM is stout like the 200's
Nothing like the turd 201
