I spoke with my colleague Matt Parker of Atlas Field Services, and he told me he wants to fill field consulting positions needed to re-establish the grid in parts of Florida hit by Ian. Personally, I hate vague job offers, so I tried to get all the pertinent information. Here's the skinny:

Engagement is as a 1099 contractor.

Minimum candidate requirements are ISA Certified Arborist. No additional compensation for additional credentials or qualifications.

Candidates must submit a resume to Atlas Field Services.

Resumes are then submitted by Atlas to FP&L for approval.

Upon Approval the contractor will earn $40 per hour up to 40 hours and $60 per hour after that. No double time is offered.

Contractors receive $35 per-diem.

Hotel lodging provided at $100% with arrangements made via Corporate Hospitality, contractors call and hotel lodgings are arranged. Atlas pays it up front.

Vehicle and fuel provided and paid up front.

12-16 hour days, 7 days a week, for now.

Time and a half after 40 hours, no double time.

Out of area candidates will be reimbursed for an airline flight to get to the area.

If you've been considering going to Florida to do post storm work, here's a chance to make some decent money without having to drag all your stuff to Florida, then find a place to stay and secure your stuff, then try to find work, then try to get paid. You'll also have the satisfaction of helping to restore basic services to people who really need it.

To get more information and/or submit a resume, here's the contact information:
